You walk into a new place, and you don't know where to go. You feel awkward because you don't know where anything is. What do you do? You look for a friendly face. And once you've made that initial contact, you feel more relaxed—and more sure of yourself and of your decision to try something new. That first friendly person makes a lasting impression on how you feel about the experience.
You can be that first friendly person and make visitors feel welcome. We're always looking for people to direct traffic in the parking lot, greet people as they arrive at the church, volunteer at the Information Center, or pass out bulletins. If you love to make people feel comfortable and welcomed, please contact the church office. Below are a few of the opportunities where you could serve on Sunday mornings.
Information Center: Assist people looking to sign up for events; help visitors find classrooms. Serve one service a month.
Ushers: Pass out bulletins; seat people; collect the offering. Serve one service a month.
Parking directors: Direct traffic; greet people as they arrive. Serve one or two services a month.
Greeters: Greet people as they enter the building; answer questions; help them find classrooms. Serve one service a month.
Resource Center: Burn CDs of the service; sell books. Serve one or two services a month (should be computer literate).
